A day before the next meeting of the chief negotiators in Brussels, there is optimism that a solution to the dinar issue will be reached. Connoisseurs of the dialogue process estimate that in the third meeting between the chief negotiator of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi and his Serbian counterpart, Petar Petkovic, a compromise will be found even with the insistence of the EU. According to them, the Kosovar side should insist on the legality and constitutionality of the CBK regulation, which prohibits the use of the dinar, but agree on a transition solution where Serbian citizens in Kosovo are not harmed.

Political scientist Fidan Ukaj tells KosovaPress that seeing the dynamics of frequent meetings in Brussels, but also the insistence of the international factor, an agreement will be reached on the issue of the dinar.

Analyst Dorajet Imeri, who is familiar with the dialogue process, is also optimistic, who expects the parties to agree on the dinar issue at Thursday's meeting.

Despite the meetings in the last two weeks, Kosovo and Serbia have not found an agreement on the dinar issue. After last week's meeting, chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi said that the parties' proposals on the dinar issue are still far from each other. According to him, the Kosovar side has issued a very constructive proposal that enables the financial support to go to the final users without injuring at any moment the regulations of the CBK and the legislation in force.
