This forum points out that after the decision to remove the Labor Law from the Legislative Calendar, despite the numerous requests and reactions from interest groups, it is clear that the government's promises have remained empty words.
"The Labor Law is vital for advancing gender equality and improving working conditions in the country. Currently, only 2 in 10 women are employed, and many of them are forced to work in unsafe conditions, without protection and without basic labor rights. The existing law discriminates against women and men alike—women because of their maternity leave responsibilities, and men because of their lack of rights to care for their children. We request that the government publish the new Draft Law for discussion and hold consultations with all interested parties. We will no longer accept excuses and delays", reads the statement.
