April 28 marks the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

Each year on this day, activities and awareness campaigns are held to focus international attention on new trends in the field of occupational safety and health, as well as the importance of issues related to workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths.

April 28 is also a day on which trade unions around the world commemorate and honor the memory of victims of workplace accidents and occupational diseases.

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an integral part of the global strategy on occupational safety and health led by the International Labour Organization, which promotes the creation of a global preventive safety and health culture with the involvement of all stakeholders.

On this date, in many countries around the world, national authorities, trade unions, occupational safety and health organizations, and employers organize numerous activities.
