The data of the organizations that treat the victims of sexual violence of the recent war in Kosovo, give alarming number of deaths of persons of this category, whose testimonies remains untreated by justice. Four different organizations told KosovaPress that there are 33 victims who have been identified and who are no longer alive, but this number may be even higher.

Many testimonies, stories and experiences of war crimes remain unheard. Along with their bodies, the testimonies of many women and men who were sexually abused during the recent war in Kosovo are being buried. And many of them are living with traumatic consequences, and some of them decided not to live anymore. Their family members were forced to say they had died of an illness, due to stigma and mentality. The four organizations that deal with the survivors of this crime, told KosovaPress that dozens of women and men have died since the war.
