Kosovo Police in Peja have arrested a person suspected of threatening a police officer.

A case has been opened against him for the criminal offense of “threatening an official person,” the police said in a media statement, KosovaPress reports.

“The Peja Regional Police Directorate, Peja Police Station, on 02.02.2026 at around 08:50, while police officers were on patrol, noticed the suspect, who had been declared wanted by the police,” the statement said.

The suspect initially attempted to flee from law enforcement authorities.

“Upon noticing the police, he began to run, but was apprehended by police officers and arrested.”

As if the previous criminal offense were not enough, it is reported that the individual also threatened other police officers during transport to the Peja Police Station.

“During transport to the Peja Police Station, the suspect threatened police officers and, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, a case for ‘threatening an official person’ was opened against him.”

After being interviewed by investigators, by decision of the State Prosecutor, the suspect was placed in detention for 48 hours.
