Although local elections have not yet been announced, political parties have already begun nominating their candidates for mayor or Municipal Assembly. Based on the past electoral processes, in these elections it is expected that thousands of candidates will compete for the position of mayor in 38 municipalities or for a seat in any of the 38 Municipal Assemblies. CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi told KosovaPress that in terms of certification of candidates who want to run in these elections, they will proceed as they did in the February 14 elections, requesting the verification of candidates in a number of institutions.
