Minister of Industry, Trade and Innovation Mimoza Kusari-Lila told the Kosovo Assembly session that there is no fuel supply crisis.

Kusari-Lila said that inspections of fuel operators by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Innovation (MINT) are ongoing, noting that so far 200 inspections have been carried out and four violations have been found.

The minister stated that there is no significant decline in fuel supply, and therefore, according to her, the situation cannot be classified as a crisis.

Referring to data from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics on fuel price increases, Kusari-Lila said that the rise is not proportional to the increase in fuel prices.

She added that the main impact on the consumer basket relates to the draft law on temporary measures in cases of market destabilization.

“The correlation, according to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, between the increase in fuel prices and the increase in product prices is not at the same level as the rise in fuel prices. However, the main weight in the consumer basket relates to the draft law on temporary measures in case of market destabilization,” Kusari-Lila said.
