Electricity consumption in Kosovo increased by over 5 percent in April
Electricity consumption in Kosovo increased in April 2026 compared to the same period last year.
According to data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS), electricity consumption in April reached 460.66 GWh, marking an increase of 5.58 percent compared to April 2025, reports KosovaPress.
However, gross available electricity stood at 567.64 GWh, recording a slight decrease of 0.07 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reports KosovaPress.
KAS also states that alternative electricity accounted for 16.36 percent of total electricity consumption in the country.
Regarding energy exchanges, in April 2026 Kosovo imported 335.29 GWh of electricity, while exporting 203.27 GWh, including transmission volumes.
According to KAS, coal production in April 2026 reached 826,993 tons, representing an increase of 20.70 percent compared to the same month last year.
These data are part of the monthly publication “Energy Statistics,” which presents indicators on energy production, consumption, imports, and exports in Kosovo.
