Many of the women, men, young boys and girls who are living with the pain of war, still find it difficult to take the decision to apply for the status of victims of sexual violence. They also find it difficult to discuss and persuade their family members to apply for this right of theirs. While, March, April and May remind them of the 'Bloody Kosovo' of two decades ago, many of them gave up applying for the status of a victim of sexual violence during the pandemic.

In the first nine months of this year, there were significantly fewer applications for the status of victim of sexual violence during the war. The Verification Commission has so far received only 130 applications, while the total number of applications has reached 1,322.
