Distria Krasniqi has achieved another major success in her career, ranking first in the world in the updated list of the International Judo Federation following the conclusion of the Paris Grand Slam.

In the ranking published on Monday, the Kosovar judoka leads with 6,510 points, ahead of German Anna Monta Olek with 6,460 points and Croatian Lara Cvjetko with 6,250 points. In fact, Krasniqi has more points than the highest-ranked male judoka in the world, Japanese Sanshiro Murao, who has 6,120 points.

On Saturday, Distria won the gold medal at the Paris Grand Slam in the under-52 kilogram category, a success that earned her a full 1,000 points in the ranking. This is not the first time she has reached the top of the world ranking, as she has previously been the highest-ranked judoka in the world across all categories on at least two occasions.
