The Basic Court in Pristina has found former Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) procurement chief Ymer Dragusha guilty of four criminal offences of abuse of official position or authority in co-perpetration, sentencing him to a single two-year prison term.

The verdict against him was announced by the presiding judge of the panel, Rrahman Beqiri. Dragusha and his defence lawyer were absent during the announcement.

According to the verdict announced today, Dragusha was sentenced to one year in prison for the first count of the indictment, while for the other three counts he received eight months of imprisonment for each.

“Based on Article 76 of the Criminal Code, the court imposes on the defendant a unified prison sentence of two (2) years, which shall be executed within 15 days from the day this verdict becomes final,” it was stated during the announcement of the verdict.

The court also instructed the State Attorney’s Office to pursue the property-related claim through regular civil proceedings.

“The injured party, the State Attorney’s Office, is instructed to pursue the property-related claim through regular civil proceedings. The defendant Ymer Dragusha is ordered to pay the costs of the criminal procedure according to the court’s final calculation: €100 as a court lump-sum fee and €100 as a fee for compensation of crime victims. If it is determined that there were additional expenses, the court will decide through a separate ruling,” it was stated during the hearing.

Ymer Dragusha had reached a plea agreement with the Special Prosecutor’s Office, which was approved by the court during the hearing held on February 7, 2025.
