The municipality of Deçan, Peja, and Junik will have three mountain rescue stations

The Embassy of Italy in Prishtina, within the framework of the NaturKosovo project, has donated mountain rescue equipment to the mountaineering clubs of Kosovo, from which the municipalities of Deçan, Peja, and Junik have benefited.

The project aims to provide information on services and trails while raising awareness for the protection of the environment and biodiversity.

The Ambassador of Italy in Prishtina, Antonelo De Riu, said that NaturKosovo promotes a public-private partnership, which maintains and improves the tourist infrastructure, which has cost 1.8 million euros from their government's budget.

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari expressed her gratitude for the financial support for the development of many projects from the Italian government. She said that the contribution of all tourism actors is vital for the safety of mountain activities and the well-being of the citizens of Kosovo.

The mayor of Deçan, Bashkim Ramosaj, said that this cooperation, with which the search and rescue unit was also established, was very necessary for the municipality that he leads.

The mayor of the municipality of Junik, Ruzhdi Shehu, and that of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, expressed their gratitude to the Italian Embassy for the cooperation.

The chairman of the Mountaineering and Sports Mountaineering Federation of Kosovo, Arianit Nikçi, and the representative of the mountain research service of Kosovo, Bardhosh Morina, also expressed their thanks to the Italian Embassy.

Meanwhile, the project coordinator, Filippo Vigani, thanked the Embassy of Italy and the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade for their support. He was optimistic about the continuation of cooperation for new projects.
