The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, considered the summit being held in Tirana, extraordinary. After receiving the leaders of the European Union and the Western Balkans, he declared that the issue between Kosovo and Serbia cannot be resolved today, as it is difficult. Rama also added that the European Union needs the Western Balkans, as much as the latter countries need the EU.

Before the start of the EU-Western Balkans Summit, Prime Minister Rama said that holding the last summit in Tirana is extraordinary.

"For us this is extraordinary, it is something that even the ones with the most daring imagination would not imagine it would happen, but it is happening. It's great, really. I think it is a very strong signal of the EU's awareness that the EU needs the Western Balkans, as much as the Western Balkans need the EU, and this is very important", stated Prime Minister Rama.
