The Committee on Budget, during today’s meeting, approved the report with amendments of the working group on the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on accounting, financial reporting and auditing.

It was approved with 6 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions.

The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, stated that the proposal addresses three issues.

"The issues that we have brought forward as a draft law, which the chair also explained well, but I think it is appropriate to clarify once again that this proposal—this draft law we have submitted—mainly addresses three issues or three topics. The first relates to redefining what constitutes an accounting association and the obligation to be a member of the International Federation of Accountants or other equivalent bodies. This is a redefinition because it has been a point of concern in this sector. The second relates to the submission of financial statements in digital form, which facilitates the process and increases the accuracy of information. And the third relates to disciplinary measures and the issuance or revocation of licenses, which has not been well regulated in the past, with the aim of increasing discipline and ensuring that statutory audits comply with the required criteria and standards. So, these are the three main topics," said Murati.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Committee on Budget, Enver Haliti, presented the amendments approved by the committee, which according to him are mainly textual.
