The Kosovo caretaker government on Wednesday allocated 580,000 euros for the construction of the music school and museum in Presheva.

Caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti said the government has been committed from the start to continuous efforts to improve the well-being of citizens in the Presheva Valley.

“Our government has been committed from the beginning to continuous engagement in improving the well-being of citizens in Presheva, Medvegja, and Bujanovac... We continue this institutional and political financial support for the Valley today by allocating 580,000 euros for the music school and museum in Presheva,” Kurti said.

Meanwhile, the caretaker Minister of Culture, Hajrulla Çeku, stated that this project represents an asset with multiple educational, artistic, and identity-related values for Albanians in the Presheva Valley.

“This request is based on the agreement between the Government and the Albanian National Council in the Valley and foresees budget support of 580,000 euros, for which co-financing of the project is planned. This project represents one of the most important investments for the cultural life of Albanians in the Presheva Valley and is an asset with multiple educational, artistic, and identity-related values,” Çeku said.

At this meeting, the grant agreement between Kosovo and the International Development Association for preparing the project that promotes and enables water security (phase two) was also approved.

Caretaker Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, said that thanks to good cooperation with the World Bank, a grant amounting to one million dollars has been made available and will be financed through a combination of credits from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and allocations from the International Development Association structured into two separate lines of financing.

“Thanks to the good cooperation we have with the World Bank, this grant amount of one million dollars has been made available to us and will be financed through a combination of credits from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the allocation of the International Development Association, structured in two separate financing lines,” Murati said.

Also, during this meeting, budget funds were approved for the Ministry for Communities and Returns to implement employment support measures for persons from non-majority communities as part of the economic revival package.
