At the First Congress of Albanian Surgeons, distinguished specialists in the field of surgery from the country and abroad are taking part, turning this event into an important scientific and professional meeting point.
For the fourth time, among the participants is also the President of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association, Huban Atila, who this year will be honored with the award of honorary member of the College of Surgeons of Kosovo.
She emphasized that she shares a fruitful cooperation with Kosovo in the field of ophthalmology, which is bringing tangible results for medicine and patients.“It is the fourth time that I am in Kosovo. The first time was only for touristic purposes. But in the last three, for meetings and other scientific purposes. This time it is more important for me because I am here to receive the honorary title of member of the College of Surgeons of Kosovo.….The first time I was here for a course on retinopathy of prematurity and it was the first time of our cooperation with the Ophthalmology Association of Kosovo. Afterwards our interaction and cooperation grew. We had scientific meetings together and last year we organized the Second Balkan Congress of Ophthalmology here. The two associations came together and we had around 300, even more than 300 participants and it was an excellent meeting here,” emphasized Atila.
Considering this Congress as unique, the President of the Ophthalmologists of Turkey, Huban Atila, emphasized the fact that this platform is bringing together surgeons of all medical fields, where all the latest developments in this field are being exchanged.
“Usually in my country we have congresses of ophthalmology only for ophthalmology, but this congress is unique for me as I said because all surgical branches come together and in this way we also learn from each other and from other specialties,” she said.
Today, the First Joint Clinical Congress of Albanian Surgeons has begun its work, a historic event that unites surgeons from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, and the Albanian diaspora. This year, the Clinical Congress of Surgery brings together 235 surgeons, among them 74 international experts from the United States of America, Europe, and the region, who will share experiences, innovations, and the newest challenges in the field of modern surgery.
