The European Union Office in Kosovo, commenting on the Government's decision to expropriate land for public interest in Leposaviq and Zubin Potok, has emphasized that the EU asks the Kosovo authorities to strictly adhere to legal procedures in the expropriation of immovable property, and to do their utmost to ensure that due process is followed and that the property rights of affected owners and interest holders are fully respected.

According to the EU, the establishment of four Kosovo Police bases on private and socially owned land - in some cases prior to initiating expropriation procedures - raises concerns about property rights in the north of Kosovo and must be adequately addressed by the authorities...
