Germany has a much greater economic power than Kosovo, while the latter should follow German policies for sustainable development, says German economist Liridon Alidemaj.

According to him, this is also the reason why comparisons between the two countries for economic development are not realistic.

The candidate for prime minister of the Vetevendosje Movement, and also the current prime minister Albin Kurti, has said that Germany is on the verge of recession, while Kosovo is flourishing economically. Deputy Minister Donika Gërvalla also made similar statements, and both said that emigrants from there are returning to Kosovo.

According to the latest World Bank reports, Kosovo continues to have the lowest per capita income, compared to the average of countries in the region and the European Union. According to the World Bank, the poverty rate in Kosovo remains high, at 19.2 percent.

According to publications from the World Bank, Kosovo lags behind its neighbors with a Gross Domestic Product per capita that reaches only 5,889 euros.
