On Wednesday, the government of Kosovo approved the draft strategy for 2025-2030 and the action plan for 2025-2027, both focused on the rights of persons with disabilities.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that this document aims to improve the quality of services, advance the inclusive education system, and enhance accessibility for persons with disabilities.
"The draft strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities 2025-2030, as well as the action plan for the rights of persons with disabilities 2025-2027, is characterized by a unified and inclusive approach. It is extended at all government levels, respecting, protecting, and implementing the rights of persons with disabilities, guaranteed by domestic legislation and international and regional human rights standards. Through this strategy, the achievement of these strategic objectives is foreseen. The first is the improvement of the quality of social services for persons with disabilities, the second is the advancement of the inclusive education system and professional development of persons with disabilities, and the third is improving accessibility for persons with disabilities," said Kurti.In today's government meeting, the proposal from the Ministry of Health for the appointment of the ad-hoc commission for the professional evaluation for the position of chief health inspector in the Health Inspectorate was also approved.
Additionally, the proposal from the Ministry of Health for the ad-hoc commission for the professional evaluation for the recruitment for the position of executive director in the Kosovo Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices was approved.
"The Kosovo Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices is a key institution in managing and overseeing the pharmaceutical market, which directly impacts the safety and health of our citizens. Strengthening the position of executive director of this institution plays an important role in ensuring regulations, standards, and fulfilling the agency's objectives. The recruitment commission will ensure that this process is conducted in accordance with the applicable legislation, respecting the principles of transparency, equality, and competition," he added.
