On March 27, 1999, two bomber planes of Serbia targeted the headquarters of the KosovaPress News Agency and Radio “Kosova e Lirë” in the village of Berisha.

As a result of this attack, 16-year-old Elbasan Jakup Berisha was killed, while both Elbasan's parents and six members of this family were wounded.
