The Kosovo Correctional Service is supporting the agreement between Kosovo and Denmark on the transfer of 300 prisoners from the Danish state to the Gjilan Detention Center. However, this agreement has been opposed by the organizations monitoring the detention centers and by the Ombudsperson. The reason of the latter is that the Correctional Service in Kosovo does not have sufficient capacities and the transfer of 300 prisoners will cause many problems. Ismail Dibrani, senior official in the Kosovo Correctional Service, tells KosovaPress that this institution will be the beneficiary of the agreement with Denmark.
