The Coordinating Committee of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), led by Executive Committee member Julian Pace Bonello, conducted an official visit to Prishtina from July 27 to 29 as part of the preparations for organizing the Mediterranean Games "Prishtina 2030.”
During their two-day stay in Kosovo, the ICMG delegation, accompanied by the institution’s Secretary-General, Iakovos Filippousis, held meetings with the highest sports leaders and local institutions. They met with the President of the Olympic Committee of Kosovo, Ismet Krasniqi, Secretary-General Besim Aliti, and Vice President Milaim Kelmendi, as well as representatives from the Government of Kosovo, including the acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, and Deputy Minister for Culture, Youth, and Sports, Daulina Osmani. They also held a meeting with the Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama.
The Government of Kosovo once again confirmed its commitment to successfully organizing this major event and guaranteed financial support for implementing the projects outlined in the candidacy file.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, guaranteed institutional support for all projects related to the city to ensure the capital is ready to host over 15,000 guests during the Games.One day later, on November 29, during the Extraordinary General Assembly of the ICMG, the Organizing Committee “Prishtina 2030” will present the main plan for the Games and the progress of preparations to the broader Mediterranean sports family.
