The majority of citizens believe that the Vetëvendosje Movement should withdraw Albulena Haxhiu as the nominee for Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, reports KosovaPress.

In a social media poll run by KosovaPress News Agency, 69% of those who voted supported the withdrawal of Albulena Haxhiu’s name from the nomination for Speaker, twenty-nine percent 29% believed that Vetëvendosje should not change the nominee, while only two percent 2% chose the option “don’t know.”

Based on this poll, the majority of participants are calling for a swift resolution to the institutional deadlock.

The survey, which follows a series of failed attempts to constitute the Assembly and elect the Speaker, reflects growing public dissatisfaction with the current political situation. Disagreements over Haxhiu’s candidacy have led to a prolonged stalemate, which has paralyzed the functioning of institutions since the last parliamentary elections.

The disagreements surrounding the nomination of Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker have deepened the political crisis in the country, while the Vetëvendosje Movement has yet to signal any change. At the same time, pressure from citizens and other political actors is mounting, with protests near the Assembly becoming a common occurrence on days when plenary sessions are held.

Whether this will lead to a shift in Vetëvendosje’s approach remains to be seen.
