The Chamber of Trade and Industry Kosovo has welcomed the decision taken in the meeting between the Government of Kosovo and that of Albania, through which they coordinated the construction of the commercial project in Porto-Romano, the integration with the Durres – Prishtina railway and the Dry Port in Kosovo.

Through a press release, The Chamber of Trade and Industry Kosovo considers that this decision will positively affect the increase in stability, security and economic development in the country, thereby increasing the speed of circulation and reducing the costs of transportation and movement of citizens.

With the beginning of the work of the Railway, Kosovo will become the center of the circulation of goods and citizens in the Balkans.

"However, we consider that the railway should have two lines, going and coming at the same time, because being two-way it offers many more opportunities for exchange and cooperation", the communiqué states.

The Chamber of Trade and Industry Kosovo considers that the construction of a single-line railway does not even come close to meeting the demands of businesses and citizens to increase the speed of sending goods and the circulation of citizens.

Moreover, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry asks the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, to take into account the demand of businesses, in order to achieve a better, more long-term and efficient solution.

Considering that the two-line railways at this time when the demands are very high, contribute much more to increase the efficiency and speed of the movement of passengers and goods.

The Chamber of Trade and Industry Kosovo welcomes and will always support these actions and decisions that increase national cooperation, as well as positively affect the economy of the two countries.
