The challenges in developing interdisciplinary sciences, the lack of integrated approaches in addressing complex topics, as well as the need for reforms in teacher training, were the issues discussed at the scientific roundtable organized by the Kosovo Pedagogical Institute (KPI), under the theme: “Interdisciplinary Sciences in Kosovo: Challenges, Strategies, and International Integration.”

The Director of KPI, Osman Buleshkaj, in his address said that in the context of education in Kosovo, the interdisciplinary approach is essential in order to provide more complete and effective solutions to challenges in schools.

Buleshkaj mentioned as an example bullying in schools, which is often addressed by teachers who are not from the field of psychology or education.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina, Blerim Saqipi, emphasized the difficulties that exist in the field of teacher training for implementing interdisciplinary approaches in pre-university education.

The aim of the roundtable was to open discussions on the challenges and opportunities for the development of interdisciplinary sciences in Kosovo, to present successful practices, and to offer perspectives for integration into international programs.
