The entire membership of the GUXO party in Decan, together with the leadership and the chairwoman, has resigned from the party.
The chairwoman of the GUXO branch in Decan, Rabije Haklaj, stated that the main reason was the refusal to allow President Vjosa Osmani to run again, KosovaPress reports.
Full Statement:
PUBLIC DECLARATIONWith full public and moral responsibility, I inform you that I, Rabije Haklaj, as co-founder of the former “Lista Vjosa,” as coordinator of the GUXO Party in Decan, and later as founder and leader elected through a regular and democratic Congress of the GUXO branch in our municipality since May 5, 2023, together with the Branch Leadership and in full unanimity with the Presidency, through a decision made in the meeting held on March 8, have decided to resign from all structures of the GUXO Party, as well as to submit the collective and irrevocable resignation of the GUXO Party branch in Decan.
Since the founding of “Lista Vjosa” on November 5, 2020, by President Vjosa Osmani and her political collaborators, later certified as the GUXO Party, we joined with great commitment to this political project, which at its core was based on the Rugovian spirit and our political orientation as a center-right, democratic, and pro-Western party.
Ms. Vjosa Osmani as President and Mr. Albin Kurti as Prime Minister.
However, what happened in recent days, as the GUXO branch in Decan, not only outraged us but also deeply disappointed us, was a pure betrayal by our coalition partner. Although they recognized the massive will of the citizens thanks to the exceptional work of President Dr. Vjosa Osmani in representing the citizens and our Republic with dignity, they acted in an unacceptable manner.
Considering that President Osmani expressed her legitimate and constitutionally guaranteed will to run for another term as President of the Republic, she not only faced opposition and zero support from the coalition partner but was even mocked and her figure denigrated, first being offered 30 votes, and then, in a further attempt to mock, 33 votes.
As if this were not enough, our disappointment as the Decan branch was further deepened by the non-supportive stance of the GUXO Party itself, a party that President Osmani herself, together with us, founded.
Furthermore, as a branch (generally) and as contributors who have given everything for the GUXO Party and for the victory of our deputies in the December 28, 2025 elections, we were denied the basic right to be informed of the party’s stance, i.e., whether it was for or against the re-election of President Osmani for a second term.
The General Council takes positions and decisions on issues of national interest of particular importance.
And the legitimate question for our party arises:For us, as GUXO in Decan, the answer is clear: none.
Therefore, for us as a branch, it is unforgivable that we were left in informational darkness, and we learned of these refusing positions only through the media and social networks on D-day, March 5, like all citizens of Kosovo.
Personally, as a committed Rugovist and a strong supporter of this political philosophy, raised in this spirit and with my convictions further strengthened through studies in Pristina and Vienna, I have contributed continuously to the GUXO Party from day one, for the victories of our joint coalition “VV-GUXO,” and above all, for the victory of GUXO Party members, with knowledge, effort, sweat, dedication, and expenditure, without sparing anything and without ever asking for anything in return from the party.
Dear citizens,
The work, dedication, and professional engagement of myself, the Leadership, and the previous members of the GUXO Party do not end today. On the contrary.
Finally, I take this opportunity to sincerely thank all my former party colleagues, especially those who have valued, recognized, and respected my contribution and the contribution of the Decan branch to the GUXO Party.
I wish you health and success wherever you are and wherever you will be in the future. Regardless of the separation of our political paths, I hope that work and ideals for the citizens and for our Republic, above all and above everything, will never divide us.
