The Acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has stated that he will very soon meet with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.

Osmani has declared that she will run for another term as president of the country, and regarding this, Kurti said that they will first wait for the constitution of the Assembly and then move forward.

“We will first wait for the results to be certified, the Assembly must be constituted, we need to see the composition of the new legislature, and then move forward. But, as I said today is the last day of the year 2025, I will soon meet President Osmani and we need to talk together about the road ahead. Keep in mind: first comes the constitution of the Assembly, the formation of the government, and only then the election of the president,” he said during a visit to Telekom of Kosovo.

When asked about the possibility of cooperation with any political party, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement said that the result of the early elections of December 28 is clear, and that the obstacles to forming the Assembly of Kosovo and the government are now nonexistent.

“I don’t have anything new to say; the result is clearer than ever before. We expected to surpass the result of February 9, but it seems we are surpassing even the result of February 14, 2021. The blockage in forming the Assembly and the obstacles to forming the new government are now nonexistent,” Kurti declared.

On December 28, early parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo, in which the Vetëvendosje Movement ranked first with 48.41%.
