The Assembly fails to establish itself for the 25th time
The Kosovo Assembly failed to establish itself again in its 25th attempt.
The latest effort by the Vetëvendosje Movement to form the Committee for the secret ballot vote for the parliamentary speaker once again did not receive support from other political parties. The session was suspended and will continue on June 4th at 11:00 AM.
51 deputies voted in favor of the Committee for the secret ballot vote for the Speaker of the Assembly, with one vote against and no abstentions.
A total of 104 deputies were present at the session.
Dehari said, "51 deputies voted in favor, one against, no abstentions. See you on June 4th at 11:00 AM."
The constitution of the Assembly has stalled because Vetëvendosje, in coalition with Guxo and Alternativa, has not managed to secure the 61 votes needed to elect Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Assembly.
The parties that have been in opposition so far are seeking another candidate, as they consider Albulena Haxhiu to be an unacceptable choice. /KosovaPress
