The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo said that the 13th salary for the public sector does not aim to alleviate poverty, but is an election-related promise and is seen by the ruling government as an opportunity to influence votes in case the country goes to elections.

The head of the parliamentary group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Besnik Tahiri, before journalists called the discussion on this topic “insignificant.”

“The 13th salary for the public sector for 80 thousand people by this government neither aims to reduce poverty nor aims to reduce inequality, it is only an action that has come from an election promise; and knowing that we may go to elections it may have an impact on the vote of the public sector and may have an impact on the upcoming elections. What I say today to all members of the government is it is shameful to distribute the 13th salary to the public sector and not distribute and not help anyone in the private sector. Today the mind of people who have integrity and shame is with that worker who is in construction today.. but our request is this what I said, government act for the private sector”, he said.
