He made these comments after meeting the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajic, in Brussels.
He said that NATO is ready to carry out its mandate in Kosovo to guarantee stability, just like in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He said that the outbreak of violence in Kosovo last year is unacceptable, where as a result of tensions, NATO had sent 1000 additional troops.
He has warned that next week, the North Atlantic Council, the highest political body of the alliance, will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to prove in this way, the unreserved support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Millojko Spajic, pledged that his country will play a constructive role for the peace and stability of the region. He added that with the head of NATO they talked about defense issues, support to Ukraine, adding that now is the time to welcome Sweden as a new member of the alliance.
When asked by journalists about the security situation in the region after the recent events in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Stoltenberg said that the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is the only way forward to find a stable solution between the two countries.
