The European Union’s Special Envoy for the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, has called for progress in the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue, reports KosovaPress.

After meeting with President Vjosa Osmani and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Sorensen said he hopes that during 2026 there will be advancement in the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

The Danish diplomat also stated that Prime Minister Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic have committed to being ready to meet when the EU calls the parties for a high-level dialogue.

Sorensen’s visit comes after Kosovo’s early parliamentary elections, where Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) won decisively with over 51 percent of the vote.

After meetings in Prishtina, Sorensen will travel to Belgrade for talks with Serbian leaders.

Kosovo and Serbia agreed on the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex in 2023; however, these agreements have not yet been implemented.
