The European Union’s Special Envoy for the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, has called for progress in the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue.

After meeting with President Vjosa Osmani and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, he stated that he hopes to see advancement in the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia during 2026.

The Danish diplomat also noted that Prime Minister Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic have committed to being willing to meet within the framework of the dialogue.

Sorensen’s visit comes after Kosovo’s early parliamentary elections.

Following his stay in Kosovo, Sorensen will travel to Serbia.

Kosovo and Serbia reached the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex in 2023; however, these agreements have not yet been fully implemented.
