Six years after the signing, the implementation of the SAA is considered to be slow
Kosovo continues to stall in the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) by failing to meet the objectives of the European agenda. This is what opposition MPs and civil society say, criticizing the government for what they say is the failure to meet the objectives of the SAA, such as Kosovo's first contractual agreement with the European Union, signed in autumn 2015, which had entered into force in April 2016. But, on the other hand, the executive has emphasized that the overall level of implementation of the SAA is 51.43 percent.
The Group for Legal and Political Studies (GLPS) has made an assessment of the implementation of the National SAA Implementation Plan for 2021 as a whole.
Regarding this, Lirika Agusholli, researcher at GLPS says for KosovaPress that the implementation of the SAA is a slow process, as she says out of 245 objectives set for 2021, only 119 of them have been met or only 49% in total.
