The head of the Organization of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVL-KLA), Hysni Gucati, has called on former comrades-in-arms to avoid traveling through Serbia after the publication of the names of members of the 111th “Adem Jashari” Brigade and the 121st “Kumanova” Brigade by the Serbian movement “Heart of Heroes”.

The movement, which represents members of police and military forces that participated in the wars in the former Yugoslavia, has called on the Serbian Government and the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office to verify the published names and determine whether, according to its claims, any of them were involved in crimes.

It has also requested that Interpol issue international arrest warrants for KLA members, while sending the lists to police authorities in several European Union countries for further action.

Speaking to KosovaPress, Gucati called on the European Union not to fall into what he described as Serbia’s trap of detaining Kosovo citizens.

“We know that Serbia has never had good intentions toward Kosovo Albanians, especially KLA members. We have previously called on veterans, and we do so again, not to travel through Serbia. They should be careful, especially members of these two brigades, because Serbian groups have now publicly called for their verification and for our comrades to be detained. It is true that they have requested from Interpol and neighboring countries that all KLA members be stopped. I call on European countries not to fall into Serbia’s trap, as they always seek to destabilize our country. We know that even when Serbia sleeps, it dreams of taking Kosovo, but that matter is over,” Gucati said.

He called on the Kosovo Government to react and raise the issue internationally, particularly with European countries and Interpol member states.

Meanwhile, lawyer Arianit Koci said that not only KLA members, but also ordinary citizens continue to face problems while passing through Serbian territory, recommending that they avoid traveling through Serbia at this stage.

According to him, Serbia has continuously submitted requests to Interpol, but most of them have not been considered outside its territory.

Koci called on the Kosovo Government to do more to protect Kosovo citizens.

In a social media post, the movement also published the names of all members of the 111th and 121st Brigades.
