The plaque bearing the name of former Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Dindic, which was placed a day earlier next to the sign of national hero Isa Boletini in North Mitrovica, has been removed.
The Kosovo Police confirmed to KosovaPress that the Zoran Dindic plaque was moved to another pole and is no longer located next to the one of Isa Boletini.
Following the installation of the new street signs, the Mayor of North Mitrovica, Milan Radojevic, went to the field and covered them with fabric, claiming that the renaming process was illegal.
A day earlier, it was also reported that the Kosovo Police had been present at the scene and had removed the cloth placed over the signs. The placement of Zoran Dindic’s name next to Isa Boletini’s has also sparked reactions from North Mitrovica residents, who opposed the decision, saying that “Isa Boletini and Zoran Dindic cannot stand in the same place.”
