"This is in line with the 5th objective of the CBK Strategic Plan. The fact that CBK is now represented by women on both the CBK board and the executive board signifies CBK's commitment not only to advocate for women's financial inclusion, but also to lead by example. Currently, CBK has a total of 225 workers, of which 122 are women", said Shileku-Sjala.
"Women's economic empowerment is not only a moral imperative; it is also a strategic investment in the sustainable development and growth of our communities and economies. However, although progress has been made in recent years, women still face significant obstacles when it comes to access to financial services. Our microfinance institutions have emerged as a powerful catalyst in addressing this issue. By offering financial products adapted to the needs of female entrepreneurs, microfinance institutions play an important role in unlocking their potential and fostering economic independence… Through small loans our institutions empower women to start and expand their businesses, create employment opportunities and contribute to the overall prosperity of our communities… We must also know that there is still much work to be done, we must increase our efforts to ensure that all women have equal opportunities to act as entrepreneurs", said Nura.
The week also continued with the advancement of another cooperation, with the signing of the memorandum of understanding with the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina", with the Faculty of Economics in order to contribute to the improvement of economic and financial knowledge and cooperation for joint projects in the field of economy, finance, and financial education.
