Citizens of Ferizaj are facing severe electricity reductions. The city has been without electricity since yesterday. This was confirmed by the Director of Public Services and Emergency Management in Ferizaj, Alberton Sahiti, who told KosovaPress that the city was without electricity supply for around 16 hours during the day yesterday.

According to him, some parts of the municipality are still facing electricity shortages today.

“For 16 hours the entire center had no electricity, and it only returned late at night. The reasons are, according to KEDS, that they are working on a new transformer, so we do not have any other explanation. For now, the situation has started to stabilize, but it is not in the best possible condition. There are still parts today where there is no electricity. Especially last night, it was around 16 hours, the entire city of Ferizaj was without electricity,” Sahiti told KosovaPress.

Meanwhile, KEDS told KosovaPress that the reason for the restricted electricity supply in Ferizaj is due to the failure of transformer T3 in Ferizaj, which belongs to KOSTT. According to them, this situation has been ongoing since March 13, when the transformer was damaged.

KOSST has also been contacted by KosovaPress and is expected to provide an official response.

Several citizens in Ferizaj have also complained about the lack of electricity, which they say is causing difficulties in their daily lives.

Two days ago, some areas of Pristina were also left without electricity for almost 24 hours due to damage to the energy infrastructure caused by the collapse of the “Don Shtjefën Kurti” road.
