The Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, has postponed the extraordinary session for the election of the president to 14:00.

According to her, this is being done to give opposition parties the opportunity to be present at the session so that the head of state can be elected.

“I invite the opposition to come to the session for the election of the president, which we started yesterday, and to give them the opportunity to come, we are continuing the session at two o’clock,” she said.

In the plenary hall, MPs from the ruling majority have been present, but not those from the opposition.

KosovaPress has learned that all parliamentary groups are present within the Assembly premises, holding meetings.

Yesterday, the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) proposed two candidates for president, Feride Rushiti and Hatixhe Hoxha. In yesterday’s voting, Rushiti received 64 votes, after which the Speaker interrupted the session and postponed it for today.
