The Serbian citizens of the four northern municipalities of the country are not informed about the energy agreement between KEDS and Elektrosever, which will enable the billing of the electricity spent by them.

Although they do not know the details of this agreement, during a conversation with KosovaPress, they said that they should start paying for the electricity they use.

Momir Mijoviq, a citizen from the north of Mitrovica, says that he knows nothing about the points of the energy agreement between KEDS and Elektrosever, but that he is ready to pay for the spent electricity.

Also Slavica Jankoviq, another citizen from the north of this city, has admitted that she is not informed about the agreement.

She said that if she has to pay for the electricity, she will.

On the other hand, the analyst Branislav Krstiq said that the Serbian citizens of the north are surprised by the fact that the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, acts as if he is not aware of the agreement, while as he said, his own cabinet has suggested that Elektrosever company sign this agreement with KEDS.

According to him, historically, Belgrade has always betrayed the Serbs, first in Croatia, and now in Kosovo.

Otherwise, from 1999 to 2017, the energy debt for the north was paid by the citizens of other municipalities of the country. Their bills were 3.5 percent higher. However, after numerous complaints, the Court of Appeal in Kosovo decided at the end of 2017 to suspend this practice, finding that it is illegal. This decision was later confirmed by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo and the payment went to the Operator of the Electricity System, Transmission and Market in Kosovo (KOSTT), according to which it was announced that the losses from non-payment of electricity in the north have reached the amount of 40 million euros only in 2021. /A.Damati/
