The United Union of Education, Science, and Culture of Kosovo (SBASHK) expresses its full and unwavering support for the Union of RTK Workers (SPERTK) and all employees of this public broadcaster, who, through dialogue and union actions, are seeking a fundamental right – the payment of their deserved salaries.

According to the announcement, SBASHK has been closely monitoring the situation at RTK and expresses deep concern over the fact that, as of November 12, 2025, RTK employees still have not received their October salaries. This situation is unacceptable and constitutes a direct violation of workers’ dignity.

“SBASHK urgently calls on the outgoing Government to immediately find a solution and allocate the necessary funds for the payment of salaries, not only for October but also for the following months, in order to ensure the normal functioning of RTK and the well-being of its employees,” the statement reads.

SBASHK also expresses strong indignation toward any form of pressure reportedly being exerted on RTK employees. They appeal to the leadership of this public institution to immediately stop any pressure on staff and to become the voice for their most basic demand – payment for the honest work they perform every day in service of the public.

“As a sign of solidarity and union support, the SBASHK Executive Board will participate in tomorrow’s protest organized by the Union of RTK Workers,” the communication states.

Furthermore, SBASHK does not rule out the possibility of mobilizing all its members – from kindergartens to universities – to stand in solidarity with their RTK colleagues if this situation continues, as solidarity among workers is the strongest pillar of the union movement.

Finally, SBASHK emphasizes that it will always stand by any worker who fights for their dignity and rights.

Meanwhile, tomorrow (Thursday) at 11:15, in front of the RTK-1 building, the second protest organized by the Union of RTK Workers (SPERTK) will take place due to unpaid salaries, as the employees of the public broadcaster have still not received their October salaries.
