The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, commenting on the failure to constitute the Assembly due to the majority of MPs refusing to vote for the deputy speaker proposed by the Serbian List, said that the protagonists lack the political will to find a solution and that this is bad for Kosovo.

He told the media that he had hoped the crisis could be resolved, but at this moment it does not seem possible.

Meanwhile, MPs of the Kosovo Assembly have elected Dimal Basha as Speaker and Albulena Haxhiu, Vlora Çitaku, Kujtim Shala, and Emilja Rexhepi as deputy speakers, with the latter set to take the role by rotation in a few months.

However, MPs did not vote for the candidate of the Serbian List for deputy speaker, which has resulted in the Assembly not being considered constituted. The session will continue on Thursday, August 28, starting at 11:00.
