According to her, during the Kurti government, the participation of the industrial and commercial sector in energy consumption has increased by three percent, while there is a continuous decrease in household consumption.
However, she adds that currently the demand for electricity has increased due to high temperatures and the entry into regular overhaul of the Kosova B power plant. This, as the minister declares, has increased the need for energy imports, where prices in the energy markets go up to at 1000 euros per megawatt hour.
Despite this, Rizvanolli says that it is too early to talk about whether there could be an increase in the price of electricity, but adds that this is the competence of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO).Rizvanolli in an interview for KosovaPress says that they are making all the preparations to have a stable supply of electricity during the winter. On the other hand, she emphasizes that until now about 40 percent of consumers in the north of the country have paid at least one electricity bill, which according to her is at a satisfactory level.
Minister Rizvanolli says that currently KEK is producing about 500 megawatts, while the demand for consumption is about 850 megawatts of electricity. She says that the less energy is imported, the less likely it is to reflect it in tariffs. The head of the economy department says that in the case of subsidizing tariffs for citizens and businesses, about 130 million euros were spent, which were distributed through KEK and direct subsidization of invoices. As for the losses in the north, the minister said that the payment was until October 2022, when the agreement was reached in Brussels on the implementation of the energy roadmap, but did not indicate the amount of the payment until that period.
Meanwhile, she announced that so far 2,713 contracts have been signed with consumers in the north, where 8,500 consumers or about 40 percent have paid at least one month.
She adds that according to the energy agreement, even if the funds are not collected from the Elektroserver company, they do not carry it to the citizens in the rest of Kosovo. In addition, Rizvanolli said that with the announcement of the winner of the solar electronic auction of 100 megawatts, there will be great benefits for the energy sector and the country's economy, as it is a 70 million project.
