The Municipality of Prishtina has warned citizens of a potential risk of flooding and has appealed for increased caution following heavy rainfall recorded over the past 24 hours in the capital.

In its announcement, the Municipality of Prishtina stated that as a result of the rainfall, citizens may encounter difficulties in road traffic, overloading of sewage and stormwater systems, water accumulation in urban areas and underpasses, as well as the risk of water runoff and flooding in urban zones and underpasses.

Based on the latest data from the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute, more than 25 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the capital over the last 24 hours, while precipitation is expected to continue in the coming days with varying intensity.

“Relevant institutions of the capital are on full standby to monitor the situation and intervene as necessary,” the statement said.
