The remains of at least two people have been found in Mitrovica, believed to belong to individuals who went missing during the last Kosovo war and are listed on the national register of persons forcibly disappeared during the 1998–1999 period.

According to the police, the excavation and exhumation were carried out on Tuesday under a court order. After the completion of procedures at the scene, the remains were sent for medical examination and identification through DNA analysis.
