The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has said that he respects the decision of Kosovo not to be included in the "Open Balkans". In a press conference for Albanian journalists, during the "Open Balkan" summit in Ohrid, Northern Macedonia, Rama said that Kosovo is sovereign and makes its own decisions. According to him, Kosovo’s place is not occupied and filled by anyone in the "Open Balkan". However, responding to the criticism, Rama stressed that to say that the "Open Balkan" is a project of Russia is tantamount to saying that the European Union is a new Yugoslavia.
