The chairman of the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival, Nenad Rashic did not receive enough votes to be elected Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from the Serb community.

Speaker of Parliament Dimal Basha said that discussions among parliamentary groups will continue, as he interrupted the constitutive session.

This is the second time that, according to the draw, Rashiq has been put to a vote.

“I note that MP Nenad Rashic received only 56 votes in favor, one against, and 20 abstentions. Consequently, I note that the said MP did not receive enough votes to be elected Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. As Speaker, I believe that during discussions with fellow MPs there have been exchanges that should continue further, where I expect that in the next session the MP could receive enough votes for Deputy Speaker. I close this session here, and discussions among parliamentary groups will continue in order to call for the vote on MP Nenad Rashic. Since discussions may continue even during the day, the administration will notify you within the day about the start of the next session,” said Speaker Dimal Basha.

In today’s session, several MPs from the Serb List were put to a vote according to the draw, but none received the required votes to be elected Deputy Speaker.

On Tuesday, the process of drawing lots began to elect the Deputy Speaker from the Serb community. The vote was interrupted after MP Nenad Rashiq, chairman of the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival, also failed to secure the necessary votes.
