The constitutive session of the Deçan Municipal Assembly was held today, where the re-elected mayor, Bashkim Ramosaj, and the newly elected assembly members took their oaths.
Mayor Ramosaj, who won the election with 50.98 percent of the vote, promised fair, transparent, and accountable governance for the citizens of Deçan.
“I stand before you today with the pride that this city gives to everyone. A pride shaped by the honest, generous, and hardworking people of this city. A pride—justifiably, even boastfully—passed down from our predecessors who sacrificed so this city could be what it is today, with such history and dignity. Dear citizens, being eternally grateful for your trust, I will be a humble servant in fulfilling our shared goals and aspirations… As the mayor of the municipality, as a citizen of this place, I will continue to speak through work, because this was also our slogan, the slogan of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo. In this direction, we will continue with dedication to fulfill the commitments already made for every sector of life: education, healthcare, welfare, infrastructure, economic development, tourism, culture, youth, sports, heritage, and so on,” Ramosaj emphasized.
He recalled the city’s historical challenges and the importance of cooperation for further development. The constitutive session was chaired by the oldest assembly member, Mustafë Selmanaj.
