Witness Rade Nedelković is testifying in the “Banjska” case before the Basic Court in Prishtina.
Before the panel of judges, he stated that he has lived in the village of Banjska in Zvečan for 60 years. During questioning by the special prosecutor, Naim Abazi, he was asked whether he knows the chief terrorist, Milan Radoičić.
Nedelković said that on the night of the terrorist attack, he was working as a guard at the "Raska Banja" hotel, and that they heard noises, adding that even the guests in the rooms were standing near the windows."All those who were in the rooms gathered around the windows and I told them to step away because someone might shoot through them. So they listened to me and sat down… I heard gunfire, nothing else. I called home, my daughter—she has four children—to ask how they were doing, and I called my wife because she was alone at home. I wasn’t very scared by the gunfire, because you only die once," he said.
The witness told the court that the hotel owner was not present that night. He confirmed seeing masked and uniformed individuals on the hotel terrace but said he did not recognize them.In the questioning by special prosecutor Naim Abazi, the witness Rade was also asked about a person named "Slivić".
Abazi: In your statement, you mentioned a person named Slivić. Do you know him?
Nedelković: No. I don’t know either of them. I just think one of them...
Abazi: In your statement, you said that his son participated in the attack.
Nedelković: I don’t know, but since he was there, probably yes.
Abazi: In your statement, you also mentioned some individuals you said were involved in the Banjska attack. Can you tell the court who those people were?
Nedelković: I don’t know, because they had masks. I can’t say who they really were.
Abazi: When the attack in Banjska happened, aside from the call you received from Slivić, did anyone else call you?
Nedelković: No, only the next day I intervened with the commander Veton Elshani… he had released the receptionist.
Special prosecutor Naim Abazi asked the witness whether he stands by the statement given to the prosecution, and he confirmed that he does.
Defense attorney Naim Rudari raised objections to his testimony, saying that the witness was avoiding questions from both the prosecutor and himself.
