The Kosovo Border Management Center has announced that the association of transport operators from North Macedonia will organize a protest today, expected to start at 12:00. Truck traffic disruptions at all border crossing points will also occur with Serbia, as a result of measures taken by the EU regarding truck drivers in the region. According to the announcement, the protest will be held on the territory of Serbia and may last up to seven days.

As a result of these protests, authorities have warned that there will be restrictions on the movement of goods transporters, which could cause delays and difficulties in cross-border traffic with Kosovo, KosovaPress reports.

“The protest will be held on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia, while on the territory of the Republic of Kosovo long queues of trucks may form, waiting to cross into the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia,” the official statement says.

It also notes that freight transport associations or truck drivers may maintain contact with their counterparts or colleagues in the region.
