Prosecutor’s Office provides details on serious case in Restelicë: Suspect had mental health issues

The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren – Department for Serious Crimes, has provided details about the serious case in the village of Restelicë, where a murder occurred.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, based on initial investigation data, the case is suspected to have occurred within the family. The suspect, F.B., is suspected of having taken the life of his mother, T.B., by using physical violence in their home in Restelicë.

“After receiving the information in the early hours of the morning, the on-duty prosecutor from the Department for Serious Crimes went to the scene, together with the relevant units of the Kosovo Police, forensic teams, and officials from the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM), with the aim of carrying out and completing investigative procedures at the scene. By order of the prosecutor, the victim was sent for an autopsy at the IFM,” the media statement said.

It also states that, according to official data from the Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect had mental disorders and had previously been involved in three (3) domestic violence cases handled by the Prizren Prosecutor’s Office. One (1) case was handled in 2024, and two (2) cases in 2021. “For these cases, the Prosecutor’s Office undertook the relevant legal actions, filed indictments, and verdicts were issued for these cases.”

The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren also stated that it is taking all necessary investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances and cause of the death.
